History
The Kel-Tec KSG is a bullpup 12 gauge pump action shotgun designed by Kel-Tec. It has two tube magazines which the user of the gun can switch between manually. Each tube holds a total of 7: 2.75 inch 12 Gauge shotshells or 6: 3 inch shotshells.
The Kel-Tec KSG shotgun is a manually operated, pump (slide) action weapon. Barrel locking is achieved by a swinging wedge, located inside the top of the bolt, which engages the barrel extension. The sliding forend is connected to the bolt by dual operating bars. The ammunition feed is from two tubular magazines, located below the barrel, side by side. At any given time, only one magazine is used to feed the gun. The user can manually select which magazine to use by switching a 3-position lever, located behind the pistol grip. The middle position of the switch blocks the feed from both magazines and allows the user to chamber a single round manually. Switching the lever to one side brings the respective magazine into the feed cycle. Once one magazine is depleted, the user has to manually change the feed direction by switching the lever to feed from another magazine. Magazines are loaded by single rounds through the large loading / ejection port, located at the bottom of the gun, behind the pistol grip. Empty shells are ejected straight down through the same port. A manual safety is made in the form of the cross-bolt button, located above the grip, making the gun fully ambidextrous in use. Sighting equipment (iron sights and / or Red Dot sights) can be installed using the standard Picatinny rail located above the barrel. An additional Picatinny rail is provided at the bottom of the sliding forend, permitting installation of the optional vertical foregrip and / or tactical flashlight or laser.

The KSG 12 is unlocked at Level 4 in multiplayer. The KSG is a high capacity pump action shotgun dealing low damage. The KSG-12 is a relatively poor shotgun, featuring the fewest pellets per shot and lowest damage per pellet of any manual-action shotgun (the others being the SPAS-12 and Model 1887), as well as being slightly slower than the aforementioned weapons at 60 RPM. The Damage proficiency is highly recommended to combat this flaw. However, this shotgun is almost unparalleled in terms of capacity, tied with Striker at a 12 shell capacity. In addition, the damage at the edge of the KSG's range is moderate, but kills at this range are unlikely due to the slow pump action and the limited pellets per shot.

Grants 35% faster melee recovery. Melee can be useful if you are stalking targets with a stealth Shotgun build. With the Riot Shield, it allows you to take down targets much more quickly at close range.

Offers a 25% boosted effective range. This is very useful on Shotguns, particularly the automatic variants. Some SMGs can benefit from this upgrade, as well, especially if you are intent on using medium-range optics.
