| Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare M40A3 |
HistoryThe M40A3 is a variant of the M40 bolt-action sniper rifle used by the United States Marine Corps. The M40 was introduced in 1966. The transition to the M40A1 model was completed in the 1970s, and the M40A3 in 2001. The A3 model costs $3,200. MultiplayerAccuracy: 9+ / 12 The best bolt action sniper rifle when using the Stopping Power perk. With Stopping Power the M40A3 will one shot kill on all parts of the body except for the exterior limbs. The closest weapon to compare it to is the R700. The advantages of the M40A3 over the R700 are it's higher bullet capacity and it's much lower scope sway. The downside to using the M40A3 is its low rate of fire and average power. Even though the M40A3 cannot shoot as fast as the Barrett, it is unnecessary since you rarely will miss a shot, and therefore the RPM is adequate. The power is lower than the Barrett and R700 as well.
