| Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare G3 |
HistoryThe G3's history started during World War II, when the Mauser factory designed an assault rifle, a low-price alternative to the StG44 and its intended replacement. However, production was never carried out during the war. Afterwards, Germany was banned from producing military weapons, causing the designers to began building the G3 in Spain. The Spanish firearms company CETME, with blueprints and input from Mauser designers, created the CETME rifle. Although originally favoring the FN FAL over the CETME, the West German Army soon after began to take an interest to the CETME. In the late fifties, the Bundeswehr adopted the rifle as the G3. Since then the rifle underwent significant modifications to keep it up to date and has been adopted by many forces worldwide. In the Spanish and German militaries, the G3 has been nearly completely replaced with the G36 rifle. The G3 rifle was also the basis for other H&K weapons in the post-war West German arsenal, such as the MP5 submachine gun and the PSG-1 sniper rifle. MultiplayerAccuracy: 11 / 12 One of two single shot firing assault rifles with medium recoil and good damage values. The main issue you have to consider with the G3 is the single shot which makes it not so great in close range encounters. In fact the average person firing a single shot weapon in close quarters has no chance. If you have good enough skills though the single shot curse can become a blessing. At long range the G3 already has the advantage, high damage values with low recoil means deadly accuracy. The 40-30 damage means you one shot in hardcore and makes the G3 playable in normal matches as well. The G3's shortcomings are obvious. As a semi-automatic weapon, it is nearly useless in close-range situations. It also acts like a sniper rifle, but without the benefit of one-shot kills, so those not used to working with it can find themselves in sticky situations when confronted with multiple foes. The iron sights, while impressive, still make it tough to catch far-away enemies, so a red-dot sight or ACOG is often necessary. Like most assault rifles, it does not share ammunition with compatible secondary weapons. Challenges
